Third Annual Convocation of PES University held.

The campus was abuzz with excitement as the graduating class of 2018 attended the third annual convocation of PES University. M R Doreswamy, Chancellor, PES University conferred the post graduate degree to 105 and graduate degrees to 1,522 candidates. The programs of study included BTech, BBA, BBA-HEM, MBA, MCA and MTech in various disciplines. Padma Shri Dr. Sudha Murty. Chairperson, Infosys Foundation delivered the convocation address. She highlighted the importance of hard work and team work in professional careers. She considered emotional quotient as important as intelligence quotient in building a career and leading a satisfying life of compassion towards the needy. As one gained wings on completing education and started achieving new goals, one should develop the art of giving, was her word of advice to the audience. She felt that gratitude towards the alma mater, parents and society makes one happy. She concluded her inspiring address with a quote from Kathopanishad about a teacher’s blessings for a student who leaves after completing his education. M R Doreswamy presided over the graduation ceremony. He outlined the university’s emphasis on holistic education and the focus on research and innovation, especially after gaining autonomy. He expressed his gratitude towards the teachers who are instrumental in the university’s pursuit of academic excellence and achievements in solving the problems of the real world. He recollected the service of eminent teachers like Dr Radhakrishnan and Abdul Kalam in building the country. He expected the graduating students to respect mother, mother land and mother tongue. He looked forward to the university’s continued relationship with graduating class as alma mater. Dr M R Doreswmay, Chancellor, declared the graduation ceremony open. Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro Chancellor, unveiled the Scroll of Honor and administered an oath with students pledging to apply knowledge for public good, innovate for advancement, be accountable for the future generations and uphold the values of perseverance, excellence and service. Dr K N B Murthy, Vice Chancellor introduced the dignitaries on the dias. Dr Krishna Murthy, Registrar presented the qualifying students to receive their awards. Dr Kanchan Garg led the academic procession as mace bearer and also presented the rank holders. Optimism and energy marked the occasion as the graduating class embarked on a journey as professionals, ready to take on new challenges and make the most of unfolding opportunities.
