Rohit of PESIT Bangalore South Campus finished second in the prestigious Boeing National Aeromodelling Festival organised by IIT Kanpur on March 20, 21.
Rohit was representing Team Avions. According to Team Avions mentor Dr SV Satish Rohit was at 5th position in virtual round which constitutes of design and fabrication of the Un-Manned Aircraft (UAV) out of 300 participating colleges including IITs. Later, during aerobatics round, Rohit gave a tough competition to all other teams and finished at 2nd position Overall. The PESIT management, staff and students are extremely happy with Rohit’s achievement. Rohit is in his first year of mechanical engineering.
The team Avions constituting 45 members had qualified in virtual round in SAE Bangalore and SAE Chennai events. The team will now participate in the aerobatic round scheduled for April 2017.

Akhil Siddharth and Aabharan Hemanth won the Bangalore edition of Tata Crucible quiz. The business quiz seeks to bring together sharpest young students in India to take on the heat of the toughest business quiz in India. The quiz has been judged highest rated ground quiz by the students of participating colleges. Twelve editions of the Crucible Campus version have been held so far with respective national finals after the city and zonal rounds. The winners took home cash prize of ₹75,000 and qualify for the South Zonal Finals. Akhil Siddharth is a student of first year BE and Aabharan Hemanth is a student of first year B. Design.
Aatmatrisha 2017 was launched in a grand manner in the august presence of the Guest of Honor, Dr. M.R. Doreswamy and other dignitaries. The programme was inaugurated by Vidushi Dr.T.S.Sathyavathi, with the Laya Lavanya group enthralling the audience. About 50 competitions got underway on the first day bringing alive the campus.
The recently held competition to recognize students of architecture who showed creativity and excellence in designing on a predefined theme saw participation from across the world. The team from PES University comprising of Rishab Chandra, Roshni Pushparaj, Sneha Baid, Srishti Ekanth and Supreeth S Kumar secured third place in Birla White Yuvaratna NXT award category from among 700 entries. The team conceptualized, detailed and executed the mural depicting the theme on a 6.0 x 4.0 feet area of wall. Titled ‘Nirvana’ the mural portrayed the theme, ‘Chaos to Peace’ creatively using the concepts from abstract geometry and iconography. Originality of idea and proficiency in working with the medium impressed the judges. The award vindicates the university’s emphasis on nurturing imagination and practical skills in students of design and architecture programs.

PESIT’s automotive club scores big at BIC event in Noida
Bengaluru: Team Enigma, the automotive club of PESIT-BSC, participated in two national-level automotive events – BAJA SAE INDIA 2017 and ISIE HVC 2017, from Feb 16 to 20.
The HVC team bagged the 1st position in virtual round, 2nd place in innovation and 2nd place in design rounds out of 250 participating teams in the event held at at Buddh Internation Circuit
(BIC) Noida, UP. The team taking part in SAE Baja cleared virtual round at 20th position out of 650 teams and cleared technical inspection round at NATRAX facility in Indore.
Enthusiastic Students from all branches of PES University took part in the flag hoisting ceremony marking the 68th Republic Day celebration. It was time to think about what one can do for the country. Building on the liberty of thought and expression guaranteed by the constitution the speakers at 31st biannual alumni meet that followed, talked about the motivation for the students to contribute intellectually to make the country progress rapidly to be a developed country. The meet was inaugurated by Prof. H.A.Ranganath, former Director, NAAC and former Vice Chancellor, Bangalore University. Talking about being successful he spoke about the importance of winning the conflicts within oneself. The learning for the students was about taking pride in the achievements of the country and elevating the nation to the next level. Prof D. Jawahar and Dr. KNB Murthy graced the occasion. The meet was compered by Prof. V.Krishna and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. K.S.Sridhar.
