The inauguration of the first batch of BTech programs of PES University was marked by a graceful function. Pro Chancellor, Dr Jawahar highlighted the vision shared by the staff and management of the university, the vision to provide substantially superior education. In his words, it is about a 2X learning experience, which is twice as effective as that provided in any other university.

The Chief Guest, Mr Naveen Tewari. CEO InMobi, shared his thoughts on education in the light of his own experience as a student that led to a successful entrepreneurial journey. He gently cautioned the students that from this day whatever they do is on their own and that will decide their future. He observed that the world is changing at a pace never seen before. What students do today is vastly different from what their predecessors did. All that difference is due to technology. He gave a glimpse of how technology has changed everything we do by citing examples of the way we consume music and even the way students take notes. However the common feature that will retain its importance is hard work.

The important aspects that matter according to him are constant learning, thinking big and thinking differently. He advised students not to be satisfied by being good enough but aim to be exceptionally good. He compared the beginning of their learning at PES University to the launching of an aircraft. The students are privileged to have high quality runway. And the takeoff angle would determine where students will find themselves four years from now. He advised the students to define the launch pad early for a bright future.

President for the ceremony and Chancellor PES University, Dr Doreswamy considered the day to be red letter day in the history of PES Institutions. He referred to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, founder of Banaras Hindu University with great respect and whom he considered the guiding force for his endeavors in the field of education. He recounted how the emphasis on values of perseverance, excellence and service has been the prime reason for the institution he founded achieving recognition as a university.
