Innovative ideas bag prizes at #Code 2017 Hackathon

The hackathon saw 36 short-listed teams battling it out. The winning hacks impressed the judging panel of experts from academia and industry. The first place was notched up by Pied Piper team of Sraman Choudhury, Srikar Chundury, Srinivas Shekar whose hack was based on lip-reading technology which makes use of a camera to intelligently understand the words spoken. Import Hack team of Prajwal Anand, Anurag Das and Nischita V S came up with an intelligent way to remove fog based on image processing. Adfreeteam Parth Shah, Aniket Kaulavkar, Alok Mehandale presented the hack to change the radio station during the advertisements by identifying their unique tunes. Specsmart team of Pratik R, Rahul Ragesh, Pratik Sampat created a unique wearable that incorporated speakers with Bluetooth along with mike facility for voice interface. Microsoft Innovation Lab at PES University conducts annually the 24 hr hackathon for engineering students from PES University and other engineering colleges. #Code 2017 is the fifth edition and saw prize money touching a lakh of rupees.
