Learn Python Way – A Two day workshop

A two day workshop on “Learn Python Way” was organised by the Department of BCA at PES University, on 28th February and 1st March 2014. The hands-on lab based and fast paced workhop was meant for quality learning. The workshop was open for students and faculties of various colleges in and around Bangalore city. Prof. N S Kumar, Managing Director, M/s Kumaradhara Consultancy, also a Corporate Trainer and a Guest Professor at PES University, who has a rich experience in multiple domains was the trainer for these two days.

The workshop was inaugurated by Shri. Anant Koppar, founder Chairman and CEO of K-Two Technology Solutions, Bangalore. He insisted the young students to build enterpreneul skills along with academics. He also mentioned the opportunities and scope for the younger generation in the real world.

The function was presided by the CEO of PES Institutions and Pro-Chancellor of PES University Prof. D Jawahar. He stressed on the quality of education and instilling interest in studies among students. He also appreciated the initiative taken by the Department of BCA for orgaising the much needed workshop on the currently most powerful language, Python.

The organiser of the event, Mr. Santosh Katti, made the objectives clear to all the participants. He spoke about the necessity and significance of learning Python and thanked the Guests, Management, participants and everyone else who took the responsibility of organising the event.

The two days of workshop was taken over by Prof. N S Kumar in his own style with a systematic approach and ease of teaching 200 participants. The first half of the day was class-room based and the second half was practical oriented. At the end of the second day, certificates were distributed to all the participants after they had taken a test on what they learnt from the workshop.

Most of the faculties and students who represented various colleges expressed their views and experiences of the two-day workshop. Ms. Kumuda, a Professor from Dayanand Sagar College, said that she was lucky enough to have a GURU like N S Kumar Sir, even though for just two days, and also thanked the BCA department for organising such an event. She also requested to conduct many more such workshps in future. A student participant from BCA, Mr. Kone, shared his views about the trainer, the way he made the students think, rather than just code.

The workshop concluded with felicitating the trainer and distribution of learning materials to all the participants. The coordinator of the event, Mr. Santosh Katti assured all the participants that, at least one workshop will be organised in every semester which will be bigger and better.
