As an educational institution, PES University is committed to supporting the cause of universalizing good quality basic education. On July 23rd the campus was abuzz with about one thousand higher primary school children coming from far flung areas.

The excited kids went back with new bags and notebooks. At the program for distribution, the guest of honor Philomena Lobo, Director of Public Instruction, Secondary Education highlighted the importance of right career choice and right intention in a child’s future. Dr M R Doreswamy spoke about the importance of education in making a child’s future productive and prosperous. Manjunath Reddy, Mayor BBMP was present on the occasion.

PES University extends support to government schools regularly through focused initiatives. Thirteen government schools and ten schools managed by BBMP are adopted by the university. For some of the schools the university sponsored the basic infrastructure and set up laboratories. Deep experience in teaching has enabled the university in conducting effective orientation programmes for teachers in these schools. Counselling sessions conducted by the university have helped many kids deal with personal and learning problems. The active support to students in improving their academic performance has helped many to qualify for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship. Undergraduate students regularly volunteer for conducting quizzes and cultural programs at the rural schools. As part of the LearnIT initiative, interactive and audio visual course material on prescribed subjects is provided in a single pen drive. With this, schools with limited resources and inadequate teacher strength are able to teach in the most effective way.

PES University is committed to supporting government schools in providing basic facilities and creating happy learning experience for the kids.
