Societe Generale GSC Brainwaves Hackathon Win
Societe Generale’s Global Solution Centre (SG GSC) hosted its first Hackathon event titled Brainwaves on 8 & 9 November! The main objective of this event was to have students from premier educational institutions come up with innovative technological solutions “to build solutions for the digital bank of tomorrow”.
SG GSC had an overwhelming response, with over 280 students registering for the event. 30 teams were shortlisted to compete in this challenge – 24 from colleges in and around Bangalore & six internal teams.
During the 24-hour code-fest that ensued, participants developed apps and codes on Web and mobile technologies. A unique aspect of this event was that the students were guided and mentored by technical experts from SG GSC as they brainstormed, researched, designed and coded through the 24-hour challenge. After a difficult process of deliberations, the jury selected top three teams from the colleges and one internal team based on user experience, level of completion and originality.
On 11 November, cash prizes totaling 5 lakhs were given away at an award ceremony held at the SG GSC office in Bangalore.
