Responding to the recent tragic floods, PES University donated bags, note books and other stationery items to over 500 children of government schools of higher primary classes in Ontagodi and Budni B.K. Village of Mudhol Taluk, Bagalkot district under the guidance of Sri Govind Karijol, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. Dr. M.R. Doreswamy, Chancellor, handed over the consignment to the flood relief coordination committee of PES University. The committee of Dr. Vijendra Kumar, Dr. Venkatesh, Dr. Satish and Dr. Basavraj oversaw the distribution of the items among the affected school children.
PES University, Bengaluru, is developing a microsatellite for Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The satellite—RSAT, will be used for carrying Satellite-Based Automatic Identification System (SB-AIS) payload to monitor ships in international waters and provide vital information about their movements. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu addressed students from PES University in New Delhi on October 16, 2019. Interacting with the students the Vice President said that the judicial processes must become more people-friendly. He said that the law enforcement machinery and the justice dispensing structures must be accessible, credible, equitable and transparently even-handed. He expressed his happiness in interacting with students from PES University and felt that meeting the younger generation was a pleasure which fills him with new energy, optimism and new ideas. He called upon the students to set the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity in ones life and become a role model for others. He hoped that as lawyers their heart will remain filled with empathy for weaker sections of society and that they will do their bit to help them.
PES University donated Rs. 1 Crore to the Flood Relief fund of Karnataka. Dr. M R Doreswamy, Chancellor and Prof. D Jawahar, Pro Chancellor presented the cheque to Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri BS Yeddyurappa. On the occasion, Dr. M R Doreswamy reiterated the institution’s commitment to actively assist the government and support people in the flood affected areas. PES University plans to provide all infrastructural support to 10 rural schools in flood affected areas. The NSS team in PES University is engaged in the rehabilitation process. Chief Minister Sri BS Yeddyurappa expressed his gratitude to PES University for extending whole hearted support to the state of Karnataka.
PES University emerged as the number one University under the category of New Universities, under 5 years, in Karnataka State Universities Rating Framework (KSURF) 2019 published recently. The applicant universities of the state were evaluated on the parameters of research excellence, innovation, teaching excellence, infrastructure, inclusiveness and social impact.

According to the agency the rankings, designed with valuable feedback from the industry, evaluate institutions based on parameters such as Faculty Student Ratio (FSR), Faculty with PhD (FWP), Papers Per Faculty (PPF), Citations Per Paper (CPP) and Inclusiveness & Diversity (ID). Institutions are awarded an overall rank depending on the number of points achieved through the evaluation. British Biologicals has been associated with the PES College of Pharmacy, Bangalore to support the economically underprivileged students by providing scholarships on an annual basis. 15 students were selected by PES Scholarship committee this year.
At the outset, it gives us immense pleasure to announce the rank list of PESSAT – 2018 entrance test conducted for admission to B.Tech programs of PES University for the academic year 2018-19. PES University successfully conducted PESSAT 2018 during April 20 – May 10, 2018. PESSAT-2018 witnessed a large turnout of candidates to take the test. Over 16,000 students from across the country applied for B.Tech Programs offered by the University. PESSAT-2018 was conducted at 37 centers across India. Dr. M R Doreswamy, Hon’ble Chancellor of PES University and Founder, PES Institutions declared the ranks of PESSAT-2018 on May 21, 2018 at 11:30 AM. He also felicitated the top 3 rankers with appreciation certificates in the presence of their parents, the press and the media. The first rank was bagged by Mr. R Muralekrishnan and the second rank was bagged by Mr. Nandagopal Vidhu, both being the students of National Public School, Indiranagar, Bangalore. The third rank was bagged by Mr. Pranav Kasetty, student of Chethana PU College, Yelahanka New Town, Bangalore. The first round of PESSAT counselling will be held on June 2nd & 3rd, 2018 at PES University for the selection of seats of all B.Tech programs (CSE, ECE, ME, EEE, CE and BT).
Periodic assessments of student performance to know the actions required for improvements is a strong focus area at PES University. To prepare the students for the new methods be it for future studies, placements or entrepreneurship the university has already introduced computer based tests and plans to introduce tabs. The initiative was featured in Times of India recently.
