Cheery Students and Happy Parents Grace PES University Convocation

638 graduating students who successfully completed programs of MBA, Executive MBA, MCA, MTech, BBA, BBA (HEM), and BCA were granted degrees at a ceremony marked by motivating speeches by esteemed guests. Dr KNB Murthy, Vice Chancellor welcomed the invitees and dignitaries.

His report highlighting the achievements of the students and university featured among other achievements, PiSAT satellite, breakthrough research and academic collaborations. The convocation was declared open by Vajubhai Vala, Governor of Karnataka and Visitor, PES University. Dr V Krishna Murthy, Registrar formally presented the candidates who were admitted to respective degrees. Prof D Jawahar, Pro Chancellor administered an oath with students pledging to apply knowledge for public good, innovate for advancement, be accountable for the future generation and uphold the values of perseverance, excellence and service. The guests unveiled the scroll of honor with the names of the rank holders. In his insightful convocation address, Mr N Ganapathy Subramaniam, COO, TCS, shared his first hand experiences of innovations and the far reaching impact of technology on business and society. He touched upon some of the technology driven trends and the new possibilities awaiting the students to explore. Business embedded in technology, experience economy, hyper connected world are trends he thought are empowering people like never before. He observed that for the students, a new kind of learning, without tests and results, has just begun. Dr M R Doreswamy, Chancellor drew the attention to some illuminating facts like greater number of Indians holding the position of COO at Fortune 500 companies. He spoke about the university’s efforts in recognizing merit and the institution’s commendable placement record. He expressed his gratitude towards the teachers for their commitment and hard work in building the university. Presiding over the function, Shri Vajubhai Vala congratulated the graduating students on behalf of the people of Karnataka. He advised students that it is time for them to set a worthy goal and work towards it. He stressed the importance of learning and on an optimistic note talked about new opportunities the country is offering and that graduating students can make the most of it by deciding to pursue their goals sincerely. The gathering had enthusiastic students and happy parents celebrating on the occasion.
