National Cultural Festival Inaugurated
Aspiration 2019, a two day national level cultural carnival featuring inspirational speeches, cultural performance and felicitation of meritorious students was hosted by PES University. The fourteenth edition of annual college magazine Vision 2019 was released during the occasion.
Dr. Seema Deep, Director-Service Operations Lifecycle Safety IQVIA, graced the event as chief guest. In her address to the gathering shared her view that students need to follow their hearts to excel in the chosen field. She outlined the journey a drug molecule takes to reach the market and increasing importance of pharmacovigilance. She was all praise for the profession of pharmacy for rendering valuable services to the society.
Sri. Upasana Mohan, guest of honour, enthralled the audience with his mesmerising voice.
Rank holders of M. Pharm program, RGUHS, GPAT 2019 qualifiers and class toppers of B. Pharm, M. Pharm and Pharm. D programs were felicitated. Fathima Biwi Award for best outgoing B. Pharm student was conferred on Ms. Darshika Mehta by Ms. Anju Majeed of Sami Labs and British Biologicals scholarships were awarded to the economically weaker students.
Dr. M. R. Doreswamy in his presidential address commanded the pharmacy sector in India for providing drugs at economical rates compared to the developed countries. He felt that students can look upon the dignitaries on the stage as a role model and become entrepreneurs. He observed that with proper use of science and technology by the youngsters India can be a powerful nation by the year 2020. Prof. Dr. S. Mohan - Director and Prof. Dr. J. Saravanan - Principal of PES College of Pharmacy were also present on the stage.
Aspiration 2019 is organised by PES College of Pharmacy on Feb 23 and 24, 2019 at Dr. MRD Auditorium, PES University campus.
