The Extensive Survey Project for the year 2021 was conducted for the 6th semester civil engineering students from 16th to 22 August 2021 at the Bangalore University campus.

The main objective of this camp was to give a brief orientation to the students about the real time applications of the basic aspects of civil engineering that they would have learnt in the previous semesters.

The survey camp comprised of the conduction of four projects:

    1. New Tank Project
    2. Water Supply Project

In the above mentioned projects, the students had to carry out the basic surveying procedures like collecting the ground data, plotting them on the drawing sheet manually and using softwares and then designing the structures or the highway depending on the nature of the project.

Due to the prevailing pandemic situation, outstation survey camp could not be planned, keeping the safety aspects in mind. In this regard, the camp was organized at the Bangalore University campus following the necessary safety protocols.

The new tank project and the water supply project were conducted from 16th to 18th August and the highway project and the layout planning were carried out from 19th to 22nd August 2021.

The students were divided into four batches and each batch was assigned to carry out the projects on their own with the guidance of the faculty members. This also helped the students to get an exposure of working as a team in completing the stipulated work within the given time frame.
