A paper titled 'Deep Dive into Faces: Pose & Illumination Invariant Multi-Face Emotion Recognition System' on Human Robot Interaction, co-authored by Suchitra Saxena, Shikha Tripathi and Sudarshan T S B, got shortlisted as top 4 finalists in 2019 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems(IROS 2019) under JTCF Novel Technology Paper Award. The finalists were KTH Sweden, PES University, TU Delft and Technische Universität Darmstadt Germany.
IROS 2019, the flagship international conference in robotics and intelligent systems was held at Macau, China, during 4-8 November, 2019. IROS 2019 is the 32nd edition of the conference. It is co-sponsored by the IEEE, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), the Society of Instruments and Control Engineers (SICE), and the New Technology Foundation (NTF). 1127 papers were accepted and presented in the conference from around 53 countries out of around 3000+ submissions.The conference had around 60+ industry demo and exhibition and several Robotic competitions.
