Padma Shri awardee Swami Sivananda, a centenarian of Sivananda Ashram Varanasi, inaugurated the newly constructed Badminton Court at the Golden Jubilee Block of the PES University.

Swami Sivananda Ji has said, Guru is greater than God because God gives you materialistic things in life, but Guru gives you the knowledge and shows the way to live life, because of the blessings of my Guru, I am living my life at the age of 125. So each one of you must respect your Guru.

He appreciated the management of PES University for taking the initiative to encourage students to play sports and thanked everyone for inviting him on this day.

Dr. M. R. Doreswamy, the Hon'ble Chancellor of PES University, stated that PES University aims to train and raise elite athletes in various disciplines, with positive development in bringing sports facilities to students and staff on campus. He said Yoga and meditation should be taught in all schools, colleges, and universities.

In the newly constructed Golden Jubilee Block, the University has established an in-house World-class Gymnasium, Basketball Court, Badminton Court, Table-Tennis Arena, Squash Court, Yoga Studio, Running-Track, and Sports Science Center with the intention of promoting sports and the health of each individual.

Dr.J.Suryaprasad, Vice-Chancellor, Dr.K.S.Sridhar, Registrar, Dr.Shailashree Haridas, Dean of Commerce and Management, Dr.V. Krishna, Dean of Students Affairs, and Mr.Vinay.M.S, Sports Director were all present.
