Member of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) - Bangalore Traffic Police- ECE Department (Accomplishment and New Assignment)
I am delighted to inform you that since last year Dr. Sudeendra, Associate Professor, ECE department, PES University has been involved in the deployment of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) and RLVD (Red Light Violation Detection) Cameras and associated ITMS (Integrated Traffic Management Systems).
The project work with BTP is part of our Community Development Program (CDP) in the public interest to make our city a better living place.
Accomplishment: A complete system including e-Challan generation is successfully installed in 50 junctions in Bangalore city.
The following violations of commuters have been detected with 98% accuracy:
- No Helmet (half helmet, construction helmet, sports helmet, cloth or chunny covering the head are treated as no helmet)
- Triple riding
- 3. Red light violation
- Stop line violation
- 5. No seat belt in Cars
- 6. Over speeding
- 7. Usage of mobile while driving
We have also received the appreciation certificate from the Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) for our work. Please find attached the appreciation letter.
New Assignment: Considering the successful completion of the project, the Bangalore Traffic Police (BTP) has once again invited Dr. Sudeendra, Associate Professor, ECE department to be part of their projects for next one year and has nominated him as the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) member.
We have got a place in TAC along with IISc, Bangalore and e-Governance Department, Govt. of Karnataka.
