Students trained by PES University emerge winners at International Economics Olympiad 2023 held at Greece
Students representing Team India and Team UAE – Aadhiraj Nayar and Kshitij Kant, won Bronze Medals in the individual categories at the International Economics Olympiad 2023 held at Greece. International Economics Olympiad is an event conducted at the international level every year since 2017 to find and encourage the best talents in the field of Economics and Finance. The students in the age group of 14-18 years from more than 70 countries participated in the event. The participants are required to perform both individually for Economics and Financial Literacy games and as a team for the Business case. The panel of jurists from different countries evaluate the students based on various criteria which includes critical thinking, Team building, creative thinking and quantitative abilities. PES University’s School of Economics under the guidance of the Dean, Dr. Shailashree Haridas, who is also the Executive Board Member of IEO, were the official Trainers for the two countries-India and UAE. The students from across India and UAE were shortlisted after three rigorous rounds with each team consisting of 5 students. They were trained by Faculty members of Economics for over a week. PES University takes pride in congratulating the students for making their countries proud. Students from both India and UAE acknowledged the invaluable guidance and mentorship of the Faculty from PES University whose expertise and encouragement played a pivotal role in their success at the international arena.
