The students from PES University are No. 1 in all aspects: Shri. Ramesh Krishnamurthy

The inauguration and the orientation of the first year classes for B.Tech program of PES University at Electronic city campus was held on 15th September 2024, “Engineer’s day”. Shri. Ramesh Krishnamurthy, Co-CEO & Executive Director of Engineering India, SIXT Research & Development, alumnus of PES institute of technology was the chief guest on this occasion. Shri. Ramesh emphasised the influence and the impact PES had on him in shaping his career and his journey through life. He shared that he has been hiring students from PES University for several years and he found them to be more industry ready than the students from other Institutions . He mentioned that with the advancement in  technology like “Gen AI” and “Automation”, students have to amplify their efforts to make accomplishments in their chosen fields. He encouraged students to work hard with humility, responsibility, humbleness and ethics in their efforts. He further quoted that “PES University is a brand, and asked students to live upto the brand as the expectations are very high”.

Dr. J. Surya Prasad, Vice Chancellor, PES University in his address stated that students joining the portals of PES this year should cheer for two reasons (I) the day is observed as “Engineer’s day”, which is celebrated on the birth anniversary of the country's statesman Sir M Vishveswariah and they should be taking inspiration from Sir M. Visvesvaraya, and (in)“Onam”, a festival of harvest. He said that “PES is a place where  aspirations are turned into reality”. He emphasised that interdisciplinary learning opportunities are higher with the university offering over 35 Programs of study. He requested parents to show their support throughout their child's academic life. He also advised the students to believe in their parents and teachers who are the two guiding pillars in shaping their life.

Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro-chancellor of PES University, Prof. Ajoy Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Harsha Chaturvedi, CTO and Prof. Nagarjuna Sadineni, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University were on the occasion.  Dr. K.S. Sridhar, the Registrar of the University proposed the welcome address and Dr. Karthiyayini Roy, Chairperson of the Department of Science and Humanities rendered the vote of thanks. Prof. CNR Rao and Prof. MRD merit scholarships were presented to meritorious students by the dignitaries.  The dignitaries also offered their floral tribute to Sir M. Visvesvaraya as 15th of September is his birth anniversary.

Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro-Chancellor of PES University held an orientation session for all the first-year students highlighting important information about the University and the practices students need to follow to become successful in their lives.
