Aatmatrisha, the annual techno-cultural fest of PES University, is a wonderful potpourri of the student culture on campus, encompassing the cultural, literary, technical, and theatre spectra. With this year's theme being cinema, with its rich history, vibrance, and exuberance, PES University is all geared up to make history. Aatmatrisha 2022 will be taking place on the 23rd and 24th of April with an expected footfall of over 8000 students with unmatched enthusiasm.

In line with the "Cinema" theme, Aatmatrisha 2022 had an event called "Appu Nenapu", reminiscing and celebrating the great personality, the passionate actor that Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar was. Puneeth Rajkumar, belovedly known as Appu, was an Indian actor, playback singer, television presenter, and producer who worked primarily in Kannada cinema. Being one of the most popular actors in the Kannada film industry, he was loved and respected all over the world. Following his recent sad demise, PES University's Kannadakoota held a tribute to celebrate the achievements of Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar and the legacy that he left behind.

"Appu Nenapu", held by PES University's Kannadakoota on the 22nd of April 2022, was emotional to watch. With the most talented students performing a musical tribute by singing some of the most well-known songs from Appu's movies, it was a soul-stirring emotive performance indeed, gaining admiration and cheers from everyone. To add to the tribute, there were also artistically magnificent dance performances by the best dancers on the campus, which everyone watched with awe.

There was a beautiful impromptu musical rendition of the song, "Bombe Heluthaithe" by Dr. V Krishna, the Dean of Student Affairs at PES University, which was euphonic to everyone who listened. With the very electric and lively crowd, whistles and cries of excitement and pride echoed all over the campus. By the end of the event, all hearts were filled with love and pride for the Kannada language, the culture, glory and heritage associated with it. The pride of being a kannadiga and an ardent fan of Late Dr.Puneeth Rajkumar shone through the crowd.
