Aatmatrisha 23: A Grand Show of Art and Culture at PES University
Every edition of Aatmatrisha sees some brilliant and talented stand-up artists leaving the audience in a fit of laughter. On the April 14, 2023 PES University observed not one but two of the best comedians. Niroop Mohan, the Kannada comedian known for his hilarious performances in films, TV shows, and on stage took over the stage along with Sahil Shah, a comedic acrobat known for his sharp wit and fearless approach to stand-up, delivering jokes and punchlines.
Niroop Mohan made humorous observations about how the new generation is on social media and how the dressing sense has evolved over generations. Sahil Shah created a breathtaking atmosphere. Mr. Shah made humorous observations about life in Bangalore and the ever-famous traffic jams of our city.
A grand cultural evening also known as "Cul-Nite" was celebrated as a part of Aatmatrisha'23 on April 15. An improvisation comedy by TNT was the Pilot event which was followed by fabulous renditions of tracks like "Ae dilhaimushkil", "Zara zara", and "Jiya re jiya" by Team Ninaada. This was then succeeded by "The Unknown" who were the winners of the Internal Battle of Bands (aka BoB). The AT theme song was the fourth performance of the Cultural Night. This was preceded by a countdown by Dr. V Krishna, Dean of Student Affairs, and the Club heads from The Music Club of PES. Team Sanskrithi, Encore, and Trance, the dance teams of PES University, presented wonderful performances and thrilled the audience with their energetic performances. The fashion team of PES University, Team Meraki did not fail to impress with their mesmerizing shows depicting the powerful world of Egypt and the circus craze. The Nautanki team, the drama club of PES University, enacted relatable scenes like exam time shenanigans and how different emotions surface in such scenarios. This Cultural night saw a footfall of about 1500-2000 students.
Aatmatrisha, PES University's much-awaited annual Techno-Cultural festival, came to an end on the April 16 with the Pro-Nite. The event kicked off with a powerful performance by the famous band - Lohar the Blacksmiths. With their fusion of traditional Indian music and contemporary elements, the crowd entertained with an electric setlist. The Kannada rap and upbeat music truly brought the energy up and the performance left the crowd at a high.
The second performance of the night was Jasleen Royal who won the hearts of people with her soulful and melodious renditions like Ranjha. The last performance was DJ Jonas Montero who captivated the crowd with his juicy remixes of famous songs in Hindi, English, and Kannada. This mega event saw a total footfall of about 7000 students.
