PES University proudly concluded Samarpana 2024, an annual tribute dedicated to honoring the families of India’s Bravehearts. Held across multiple days in October, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, honored guests, distinguished members of the armed forces, and the local community.

The festivities began with RAAS LEHER, a vibrant Garba night fundraiser on October 5th and 6th, where students and attendees came together to celebrate and raise funds in support of the families of fallen soldiers. This spirited event marked the beginning of a heartfelt journey to honor and support those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

On October 25th, an Army Talks session featured esteemed speakers, including Lt. Col. Shri Harsha (retd.), Lt. Col. Srinivas MN (retd.), and Major Jeevan Shetty, who shared their insights and stories of service. The session provided valuable perspectives on the strength and resilience required in service to the country, leaving a profound impact on the students and faculty in attendance.

The program continued on October 26th with a Legal Aid Camp organized by the Department of Law at PES University followed by a medical aid initiative provided by Excel Care Hospitals. This initiative aimed to provide valuable legal assistance and medical resources to the families of Bravehearts, reflecting the university’s commitment to supporting their diverse needs.

On October 27th, the families were treated to cultural programs in the morning, by the student clubs of the University. In the afternoon, the main function - Honoring Ceremony for the families of 20 Bravehearts was conducted. The ceremony was graced by several notable guests, including Col. Narsimha (retd.), Major Jeevan Shetty, Lt. Col. Shri Harsha (retd.). Key dignitaries from the university—Dr. K.S. Sridhar (Registrar), Dr. V. Krishna (Dean, Student Affairs), Dr. Shailashree Haridas (Dean, Faculty of Management and Commerce), Dr. S. Radhakrishnan (Chairperson, Science & Humanities, RRC), Dr. S.V. Venkatesh (Professor, Civil Engineering), and Dr. Ajey S.N.R. (Chairperson, Dept. of ECE, EC Campus)—joined in recognizing the families' resilience and sacrifice.

The event concluded on October 28th with a “Bangalore Darshan” tour, where the families were guided through some of Bangalore’s most cherished landmarks. Beginning with Vidhan Soudha, Karnataka’s legislative pride, the tour concluded with a visit to the Indira Gandhi War Memorial, allowing families to pay tribute to their loved ones. This tour was a reflective experience for the families and allowed them to connect with the city’s rich heritage.

Union Bank served as the proud primary sponsor, while Excel Care Hospitals provided essential medical aid throughout the event, playing instrumental roles in making Samarpana 2024 a success. Their support enabled PES University to host a seamless and impactful event honoring the spirit of service and sacrifice.
