Spatial Analysis through traditional Indian games

Spatial Analysis through traditional Indian games

Students of architecture actively participated in traditional games such as Chokabara, Kuntabelli, Lamb and Tiger, Land and Water, and Bow and Dog, with spatial squares drawn on the ground using white tape. The activity emphasized spatial dynamics, movement patterns, and boundary interactions embedded in these games, providing insights into spatial adaptability, human interaction, and cultural roots of spatial organization. This activity connected the cultural traditions of Indian games to architectural principles, offering students a deeper understanding of spatial analysis and its application to design. The Department of Architecture at PES University as part of their weekly seminar and activities class conducted the activity titled Spatial Analysis through traditional Indian games on December 12, 2024.
