PES University and Bajaj Auto Limited Launch Diploma Trainee Engineer (DTE) Skilling Program
Bangalore, December 16, 2024: PES University, in collaboration with Bajaj Auto Limited launched the pilot batch of Diploma Trainee Engineer (DTE) program for training Diploma students at Bajaj Engineering Skills Training Centre (BEST) setup at PES University campus. This landmark initiative is part of Bajaj Auto’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to empower young engineers by providing industry-aligned training and enhancing their employability..This marked a significant step forward in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
The DTE Skilling Program of BEST is a transformative four-month training module designed for diploma engineering students, focusing on immersive and hands-on learning experiences. The pilot batch comprising of 65 students aims to replicate the success of the Graduate Engineering Trainee (GTE) Program, which has already set a benchmark for excellence in skilling initiatives at BEST@PESU
In his address to students, the Chancellor of PES University, Prof. M. R. Doreswamy, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, “The launch of the Diploma Engineering Trainee (DTE) Skilling Program, in collaboration with Bajaj Auto Limited, exemplifies our commitment to bridging the gap between academics and industry. This transformative four-month program will equip diploma students with industry-aligned skills, fostering innovation and enhancing employability. Together, we are shaping a future where education creates opportunities and empowers young engineers to excel.”
Mr. Sudhakar, Vice President, CSR, at Bajaj Auto Limited, also emphasized the company's vision behind this initiative. In his presidential address Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy, Pro Chancellor PES University said that he was very happy at the successful completion of the six months Graduate Trainee Engineer. He shared that 45 out of 57 students are placed in industries such as Festo, HCLTech, Wipro, L&T and the remaining students will also be placed as placements are still underway.
