Platform for culinary innovation and collaboration launched
Designed for chefs and students across India, the platform offers a dynamic space to learn, share, and showcase their skills and innovations. Accessible through internet and mobile, it supports individual chapters across the country, streamlining operations and enabling seamless collaboration for impactful execution. Chef Manjit Gill, President of Indian Federation of Culinary Associations, shared his enthusiasm for this initiative, and highlighted that the Indian food and culinary industry has immense depth, talent that are intertwined with a plethora of untold stories. He envisaged leveraging digital platforms to foster collaboration and content generation. The platform aims to bring the community closer and drive impactful collaboration. Highlighting its transformative potential, Himanshu Barola, representing IFCA, added that a customized platform that encourages chefs to actively participate in ecosystem activities will raise awareness of the richness of the Indian culinary landscape. Chef Vijay Baskaran of IFCA emphasized its value in addressing industry gaps as the system is designed to effectively tackle issues in talent development, employment, and competency levels within the industry. From the academic perspective, Prof. Jawahar D, Pro-Chancellor of PES University, noted that PES University continuously works to bridge the gap between academics and industry and such platforms benefit the students and support the wider student community in adapting to industry needs and fostering innovation. Dr. Jaykumar, Chairperson of the Department of Hospitality and Event Management expressed pride and excitement in partnering with IFCA and PESU Venture Labs in embracing technology to enable culinary collaborations and innovations, thereby giving seamless access to the potential the industry offers and enhancing academia-industry engagement. Suresh Narasimha, Managing Partner of PESU Venture Labs, added that the initiative exemplifies how industry and academia can come together to drive innovation and capability building in line with the vision to seed and support strategic innovations across key sectors in India. The Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA) and the Department of Hospitality and Event Management at PES University, Bangalore in collaboration with PESU Venture Labs launched the Community Collaboration Platform for Chefs.
