Alumni talks on a global professional journey and pursuing higher education

Sanchit Sharma, an alumnus of department of Biotechnology, batch of 2004-2008 in his talk on Simplifying Your Journey: Global or Local shared experiences that honed his life skills. He explained how working with companies like OYO and Eurofins helped him adapt and pick up business and entrepreneurial skills to survive in the ever-evolving world. He highlighted the importance of respect for mentors, wellness and peace of mind. His company, Namaste Global, was founded based on these very qualities. The company attracted scientific giants from the global and Indian market, which were fruits of success after rigorous market studies, expansion plans and business strategies. He pointed out that failures are opportunities for learning. Shruti and Anushka, alumni of department of Biotechnology, batch of 2019-2023 are pursuing Masters students at John Hopkins University. They shared their experience of applying for Masters and how the university and undergraduate course play a key role in admissions to foreign universities. They explained the steps from filling an application form to finally getting admitted in one of the most prestigious universities in the world. They also spoke about some of the amazing research pursued in Johns Hopkins University which indicated the direction of the field of biotechnology globally. The questions asked by the audience highlighted the different aspects of the applications, including the preparatory exams like GRE and TOEFL, specialisations, courses, day-to-day life, research and work experience. The talks by alumni of the department of biotechnology were held on January 15, 2025 at RR campus.
