The 76th Republic Day Celebration - Tricolor Triumph: Honoring India's Legacy at PES University
The 76th republic day celebration at PES University was an event of great pride, patriotism, and inspiration, bringing together students, faculty, and alumni to honor India's enduring legacy. The celebration commenced at 8:30 AM with the ceremonial flag hoisting, led by Professor D. Jawahar, the Pro-Chancellor, and the Chief Guest, Mr. Anand Mallesh Kadur, accompanied by the soul-stirring strains of the national anthem. The sight of the fluttering tricolor filled everyone present with immense pride and patriotic fervor.
The event was seamlessly orchestrated under the guidance of Dr. V. Krishna, the Dean of Student Affairs. Dr. Suryaprasad J, the Vice-Chancellor, delivered a warm welcome and introduced the Chief Guest, setting a tone of thoughtfulness and reverence for the day’s proceedings.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Anand Mallesh Kadur, a distinguished alumnus from the class of 1998 and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of IG Group, shared an inspiring address. He reflected on the importance of dedication and leadership in achieving success, drawing from his illustrious career in the financial services sector. His journey, from being a student at PESIT to becoming a global leader, was a testament to the values instilled by the university and served as a beacon of inspiration for all.
The Pro-Chancellor, Professor D. Jawahar, further elevated the proceedings with a heartfelt and thought-provoking speech. He emphasized PES University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and nation-building, instilling pride among all present.
The formal ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Harsha Chaturvedi, the Chief Technical Operator, who expressed gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event.
The celebrations transitioned into a vibrant cultural segment, showcasing the immense talent and diversity within the university. Monith Roy and Saanchi Behre from the Department of Performing Arts had beautifully performed two Flag-waving songs O Desh Mere! And Teri mitti from Kesari. Three members representing the Music Club of PES, Sarvagna Sanjay, Sakshi Suresh and Janya had sung Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Jeete Hain Chal (2016), reminding us of the great sacrifices and Proud India. The Tarang Band from the Faculty of Law delivered captivating performances of Maa Tujhe Salaam and Lehra do that left the audience spellbound. Adding to the grandeur, members of the Faculty of Law presented an evocative monologue and speech celebrating the bravery and legacy of Kittur Rani Chennamma, a true symbol of courage and resilience.
The event concluded on a high note with a pledge of allegiance to uphold the values of the Constitution and work towards the progress and unity of the nation. Attendees dispersed after enjoying a delightful breakfast at the Golden Jubilee Block (GJB) Canteen, carrying with them a renewed sense of pride and responsibility.
This year’s republic day celebration at PES University was not just a tribute to the nation’s legacy but also a powerful reminder of our duties as citizens. It inspired everyone present to contribute to a brighter, more inclusive, and progressive India. The day ended on a note of unity, pride, and hope for a better future.
