CXO Talk on leadership in times of change
In a changing business environment, leadership shapes direction, influences decisions, and impacts how organizations respond to uncertainty, challenges, and new opportunities. Gregory Profeta in his talk touched upon purpose-led values-driven leadership, tech for change, tech for good, leading with heart and leading with courage. Drawing on his experience with the audit, tax and advisory practices of PricewaterhouseCoopers, considered one of the Big Four accounting firms, he highlighted the importance of upholding high ethical standards, delivering quality services, acting with integrity, and focusing on understanding individual client needs. Auditing brings trust to the capital market. Using the example of TATA motors, he explained the importance of trust, transparency and integrity. He spoke about the tax regime and how its implications are a critical consideration in business operations, influencing financial decisions. PwC as an organization emphasizes the evolving role of tax as a catalyst for building trust and driving sustained business outcomes. He elaborated on the working of the advisory unit also known as consulting services, which offers a comprehensive range of solutions to help organizations navigate complex challenges and achieve their business objectives. Greg highlighted the Geopolitics including sustainability and AI technology.
The regulatory frameworks of PwC comprises the assistance related to sustainability and map out the risks of natural disasters like tsunami, hurricanes etc. He then explained how Artificial Intelligence is a game changer which is moving far more quickly than any other technology. Applying AI into operations of the company leads to large scale system interpretation resulting in up to 30-50% quicker solutions. He explained the expectations of the company from budding leaders with respect to qualities of smartness, caring with empathy, lifelong learnings, giving back to the community, skillset based knowledge and adapting to change and excelling through a corporate journey. Mr. Hari Kumar, managing partner at PwC and and a visionary leader who builds and transforms global organizations, along with Mr. Gregory Profeta, in his session stressed the need for future leaders to be smart, empathetic, adaptable, and committed to lifelong learning and answered questions related to team management and workplace diversity.
