He emphasized how major global players, despite initially steering clear of the grocery sector, have now made significant inroads into this space. He shed light on the rapid advancements in R&D within the quick commerce industry. He illustrated how quick commerce companies have, in less than four years, collectively overtaken the established leaders. He delved into the paradigm shift in grocery retail, from traditional websites and apps to cutting-edge BI tools and from static reports to dynamic dashboards. He considered gen Z as the driving force behind this innovation and growth. His remark, Retail is in the details, encapsulated the meticulous nature of the industry and its evolving landscape. He emphasized the qualities that define a proficient retail analyst. Understanding the nuances beyond surface-level data to ask the right questions to uncover underlying patterns is important according to him. He felt that spending time where retail action happens and building a comfort level with large datasets helps better insights lead to sharp reasoning and analytical skills which are key to drive strategic decisions.
