World Zoonoses Day observed

A house to house health awareness campaign was conducted sharing key messages about rabies prevention like proper animal handling, immediate wound washing, and prompt post-exposure prophylaxis as well as general zoonoses like influenza and leptospirosis. First-aid protocols for animal bites were demonstrated and the importance of reporting dog bites especially by rabid dogs to the Primary Health Centre immediately was highlighted. On July 15, 2025, Department of Community Medicine observed World Zoonoses Day, at Rural Health Training Centre of Lakkur to strengthen awareness of rabies and other animal to human diseases, aligning with the global one-health ethos.
