International Yoga Day Celebrated at PESIMSR, Kuppam
The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm at PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PESIMSR), Kuppam on 21st June 2025, in alignment with the nationwide initiative ‘Yogandhra-25’, jointly organized by the Government of India and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The event commenced at 7:00 AM in the College Auditorium, drawing active participation from faculty, administrative staff, and students of Medical, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Allied Health Sciences. The celebration centered on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” (IDY 2025), emphasizing yoga’s essential role in promoting both individual well-being and global harmony.
The program was graced by Dr. H. R. Krishna Rao, Dean & Principal, Dr. Subramanya K, Medical Superintendent, along with senior administrators and Heads of Departments. In their addresses, they highlighted the importance of integrating yoga into daily life to improve physical fitness, emotional stability, and mental clarity.
A special yoga demonstration was led by trained faculty and student volunteers, followed by sessions on pranayama, meditation, and relaxation techniques. The participants showed remarkable discipline, energy, and unity, embodying the spirit of holistic health and wellness.
In his keynote address, Dean Dr. H. R. Krishna Rao remarked:
“Yoga is not merely a set of physical exercises but a way of life that connects the body, mind, and soul. As future healthcare professionals, it is essential that our students understand and embrace the preventive and therapeutic value of yoga. Let this day inspire each of us to adopt yoga as a daily practice for better living and better caregiving.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a successful and meaningful observance that reinforced PESIMSR’s commitment to fostering health, harmony, and mindful living among its academic community.
