Continuing medical education session on perioperative ultrasonography

The session introduced the concept of Minute Zero to the anaesthesia fraternity focussing on initial ultrasound assessment of the various internal organs of the patient performed in a preoperative setting in adults and children to establish a baseline status. The study provides a comprehensive understanding of the patient’s clinical condition and helps identify potential optimisation opportunities before surgery. The session Peak 2025 on Perioperative Ultrasonography, attended by delegates from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu and webcast was conducted by the Department of Anaesthesia on July 20, 2025 at PESUIMSR.
