Understanding relevance of Ramayana
Ramayana remains relevant even today through practical teachings of values of duty, ethics, compassion, leadership, and righteous living. The speaker on values and ethics and relevance of Ramayana in modern life, Mr. Deodhar began with a brief overview of Valmiki’s Ramayana, the most authentic version, and its enduring relevance. He explained that reading it in full, one sloka every five minutes, would take almost a year. He discussed selected slokas for their moral and ethical insights. Touching upon the debate over fact versus fiction, he described Itihasa as a narration of real events in story form and noted how popular interpretations often differ from the original. Drawing from the Ayodhya Kanda, he explored the idea of the “ideal person” and the role of repeated reading in shaping virtuous behavior. The Institute of BBA and BBA (Business Analytics), hosted the session by Mr. Yashodeep Deodhar, Founder, Derrick Petroleum Services on Values and Ethics and relevance of Ramayana in modern life on August 13, 2025 at RR campus.
