E-MELA 2025: A Celebration of Student Entrepreneurship at PES University
On October 17, 2025, the Tech Park at PES University transformed into a vibrant marketplace of ideas, flavors, and creativity as students came together for E-MELA 2025—the grand finale of Entrepreneurship Week. Organized by the Department of BBA and BBA Business Analytics, the event was a dynamic showcase of student-led innovation and enterprise.
A Marketplace of Ideas and Experiences
From 1:45 PM to 5:00 PM, the ground floor of Tech Park buzzed with energy. Students set up a variety of stalls offering:
- Delicious food (Panipuri, pasta, snacks)
- Interactive games and puzzles
- Art and fashion (henna, face painting, accessories, books, stickers)
Each stall reflected the entrepreneurial spirit of its creators, blending creativity with business acumen.
A Unique Currency Experience
One of the standout features of E-MELA 2025 was the exclusive event currency system. Attendees exchanged real money at designated “event banks” for custom currency, which they used for all purchases. This innovative approach gave students hands-on experience in:
- Financial transactions
- Budgeting and money flow
- Business operations in a simulated economy
Student Power Behind the Scenes
The event was powered by a dedicated team of volunteers and organizers from the BBA and BBA BA programs. Key contributors included:
- Organizing Team: Shambavi V Achar, Aryan R D, Dharini M Bhat, Mohith C, and others
- Responsibilities: Event management, social media, photography, discipline, and logistics
Their efforts ensured a smooth, engaging, and impactful experience for all.
What Students Learned
E-MELA wasn’t just fun—it was a learning lab for future entrepreneurs. Students gained:
- Practical business experience in setting up and managing stalls
- Financial literacy through the event currency model
- Marketing and sales skills via real-time customer interaction
- Creative problem-solving and teamwork
- A deeper entrepreneurial mindset
