The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at PES University hosted the Orientation of SILICON, the VLSI vertical of the ECE Tech Forum, on 3rd September 2025 at the BE Block Seminar Hall. The session witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 120 students from 3rd and 5th semesters, eager to explore opportunities in the semiconductor industry.

  • Opening Session: Dr. Sunita M S, faculty mentor of SILICON, introduced the forum, shared its past achievements, and outlined upcoming initiatives. She also highlighted the Government of India’s efforts to boost the semiconductor ecosystem, emphasizing its relevance for aspiring engineers.
  • Expert Talk by Alumnus: Mr. Satish Sajjanar, PES alumnus (2013–17 batch) and DFT Engineer at Texas Instruments, delivered an insightful presentation on the semiconductor ecosystem, career paths in VLSI, and essential skills for success in this domain. His talk provided practical guidance on foundational courses and industry expectations.
  • Chairperson’s Vision: Dr. Shikha Tripathi, Chairperson, spoke about the NICE domain and shared her vision for holistic student development.
  • Interactive Quiz: A fun and engaging quiz on trending VLSI topics, conducted by Mr. Chandan (7th Sem ECE), kept the audience energized. Winners received diaries and pens as prizes.
