12 FPS: A Creative Leap into 3D Animation — Event Recap

12 FPS: A Creative Leap into 3D Animation — Event Recap

On 18th February 2026, Parallax successfully hosted 12 FPS, a hands‑on 3D Animation Workshop aimed at introducing students to the fascinating world of 3D design using Blender. Held from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the EC Campus, Classroom 400B, the workshop offered students a rich learning experience that blended creativity, technology, and collaboration.

A Workshop Designed for Creators
12 FPS wasn’t just a typical training session— it was a launchpad for students looking to explore 3D modeling, animation fundamentals, and visual storytelling.

The workshop began with an introduction to Blender’s interface, where participants were guided step‑by‑step through the basics of object manipulation, mesh modeling, materials, lighting, and simple animations. For many students, this was their first encounter with 3D tools, making the hands‑on learning environment incredibly valuable.

Mentor‑Driven Learning
What made this workshop especially engaging was the presence of trained mentors.
These mentors had undergone pre‑workshop training, enabling them to support attendees effectively throughout the session. With personalized guidance and one‑on‑one interactions, participants felt encouraged to experiment and explore, regardless of their previous experience with design tools.

A Packed House
The enthusiasm for the event was evident:

  • 108 total registrations
  • 50 active participants
  • Students from multiple branches and semesters

The full classroom buzzed with energy as students tackled challenges, asked questions, and began bringing their ideas to life in 3D.

A Stepping Stone Toward deltaTime
The timing of the workshop was intentional. With Parallax’s flagship hackathon, deltaTime, just around the corner, this event helped equip students with skills that could elevate their game development or creative submissions. Whether participants wanted to design characters, build environments, or craft animated sequences, 12 FPS provided them with a strong foundation.

Behind the Scenes: The Team That Made It Happen
This event was made possible thanks to the dedicated organizing team and office bearers of Parallax. Their commitment to planning, coordination, logistics, and mentoring helped create a smooth and impactful learning experience for everyone who attended.

Budget and Resources
To enhance the event experience, the club allocated funds toward custom stickers and workshop essentials:

  • Amount spent: ₹1110
  • Number of sticker sheets: 6
  • Cost per sheet: ₹185

It’s often the small touches—like customized stickers—that make an event feel memorable and cohesive.

Moments Captured
Throughout the workshop, students were immersed in their screens, shaping cubes into characters, building scenes, and experimenting with animations. The captured images from the event reflect both curiosity and joy—reminders of how rewarding it is to bring imagination into motion.

Looking Ahead
12 FPS marks another successful milestone for Parallax’s mission:
to create spaces where technology, creativity, and learning intersect.

As deltaTime approaches, excitement is building. With their newfound skills, many participants are now better equipped—and inspired—to bring unique projects to life.
