PESU Students Gain Industry Exposure at High‑Profile Wedding Event at Prangana

From 12th to 14th February 2026, four first‑semester students from the BBA – Hospitality and Event Management (HEM) program at PES University had the unique opportunity to participate in a high‑profile wedding event held at Prangana, Bengaluru. Spanning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day, the event offered students an immersive learning experience within the world of luxury hospitality and large‑scale event execution.

Three Days of Traditional Festivities
The wedding celebrations featured a complete sequence of culturally significant events, including Haldi, Mehendi, the wedding ceremony, and the reception. Students were able to observe the flow of multi‑day wedding operations and understand how each segment demands distinct planning, coordination, and aesthetic considerations.

Hands‑On Exposure to Luxury Event Management
Participating in a high‑profile celebration allowed students to witness the intricacies behind:

  • Large‑scale catering for diverse guest preferences
  • Backend production workflows
  • Venue décor, theme curation, and attention to detail
  • Guest management across multiple ceremonies
  • Real-time troubleshooting and coordination among event teams

A key highlight of their participation was the opportunity to shadow the bride and groom, allowing students to understand the importance of personalized service and continuous engagement in ensuring client satisfaction.

Building Professional Understanding Through Observation
With an estimated 50 to 100 guests in attendance, the event gave students an authentic perspective on crowd flow, time management, vendor coordination, and service delivery under live conditions. The exposure reinforced essential hospitality principles, including:

  • Professional conduct in guest interactions
  • The significance of design and décor in shaping event experiences
  • Precision and timing in executing large‑scale functions
  • The value of responsiveness in maintaining high standards of service

These learnings serve as foundational insights for students preparing for future leadership roles in hospitality and event management.

A Valuable Real‑World Learning Opportunity
The participation of PESU’s BBA‑HEM students in this three‑day wedding event reflects the university’s commitment to experiential learning. By stepping into a real professional environment, students gained practical knowledge that extends far beyond classroom teaching — strengthening their confidence, industry readiness, and understanding of premium event operations.
