The Analytics summit 2024 on empowering students with data-driven insights and how industry experts are shaping the future of analytics brought together industry leaders to highlight the impact of data analytics on various sectors. Prof. Ajoy Kumar, set the context by emphasizing the importance of analytics and data in our lives and the need for students to deepen their knowledge in this field. Zishan Ansari, data science analyst, credit risk manager at HSBC, shared valuable perspectives on predictive analytics and its role in shaping business futures. He highlighted how predictive analysis helps businesses make strategic decisions based on current trends and past patterns. The panel discussion, moderated by Navin Krishnakumar of Siemens, featured Navin Manaswi, CEO and founder of WoWExp, Ravi Ranjan, AI/ML Computational Science expert at Accenture, Barun Kumar De, principal data scientist with Bosch Software and SV Varadarajan, expert in analytics with indeed.com. They emphasized the importance of data-driven solutions, the challenges in data collection and processing, and the critical role of data quality in analytics. The panel discussion on how artificial intelligence is driving innovation across various sectors underscored the transformative power of AI and data analytics across various industries, particularly in banking and public infrastructure. As organizations navigate the complexities of digital transformation, the insights shared during this session provided valuable guidance on leveraging AI and data analytics to foster innovation and create impactful solutions for the future. The keynote by Sudarshan KL, known for Shaping CAGR at Quantzig, offered insights into decision- making through analytics. He emphasized that the crucial first step in leveraging analytics is identifying opportunities, problems, and constraints. He stressed that in the world of big data, the true skill lies not just in analyzing information, but in asking the right questions. The panel discussion moderated by Sumanta Adhikari, an expert in Advanced Analytics from IBM offered a comprehensive look at how data analytics is revolutionizing business decision-making processes. Premjith Alampilly, COO - Gritstone Technologies, Manisha Banthia, VP - Data and Analytics - Fiserv, Vishal Bhatia, Chief Digital Officer - Canara Bank, Jatin Srivastava, VP - Quantzig and  Raktim Singh, Senior Industry Principal, Digital and Wealth Banking - Infosys Finacle highlighted the transformative power of data analytics across various industries. From fintech to traditional banking, and from software development to consultancy services, the panelists demonstrated how data-driven decision- making is no longer a competitive advantage but a necessity for survival and growth in the modern business landscape. The second day of the Analytics Summit featured a panel discussion moderated by faculty member Gopal Krishna Sharma, that focussed on Generative AI and Data Transformation, exploring how AI is driving innovation in various sectors. Debaprattima Acharya, Vice President at Citi India, Jyotirmoy Dutta, representing CDPG, FSID in Bangalore, Bhagaban Khatai, Senior Director of  Data and  Analytics at Visionet Systems, Badarinath Ambati, Vice President of Software Development at Altair underscored the necessity for organizations to embrace these technologies to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and drive Innovation. Laxminarayanan G, Global Head of Automation and Transformation at CYIENT, in his keynote spoke on the impact of real-time analytics on business agility. He highlighted how analytics and AI are transforming modern businesses, enabling them to develop innovative solutions through advanced technologies. Rakesh Verma shared insights from his experience at Wipro, focusing on how data analytics is reshaping the landscape of cybersecurity. He described scenarios where big data analysis helped organizations detect and respond to threats efficiently, emphasizing the need for a proactive approach. The panel discussion with Vishwa Nath Jha, Krishnaswamy Subbarao, Hariharan Iyer, Shiva Prakash and Nagaraj Kulkarni concluded by emphasizing that while technology is crucial, the true value of data analytics lies in how it is applied to solve real-world problems and drive meaningful change across industries. The two day summit provided students with valuable insights into the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and artificial intelligence, enhancing their understanding of real-world applications. Engaging with industry leaders and experts allowed students to gain practical knowledge and inspiration for their future careers in analytics.
