Workshop on natural color painting
The session aimed to explore the use of natural resources for creating sustainable and eco-friendly colors, which can be used in architecture, art and design. The workshop introduced students to a diverse range of natural color sources that are traditionally used for dyeing and painting. The colors, extracted from plants, fruits, spices, and minerals, were demonstrated through hands-on activities where students could create pigments and understand their origins and applications. Some of the natural color sources explored during the session included: sandalwood, saffron, tamarind, turmeric, lime and lemon, beetroot, pomegranate, dragon fruit, hibiscus, spinach and coriander, henna, coffee and tea decoction, jamun, marigold and rose, red cabbage, pea flower, soap nut, chilli & mango, watermelon, cocoa powder and clay variants. Boho painting activity, a workshop on natural color pigments was conducted by faculty of Architecture on March 27, 2025 at RR campus.
