PocketCoach online sports training platform wins at startup Karnataka Elevate 2024

PocketCoach, an online sports training platform for athletes to train using structured quality sports programs designed by international coaches that was developed by the team of Achintya Krishna, Anup Prakash and Omkar Jois won in the Startup Karnataka Elevate 2024 program. The start-up received a ₹30 lakh grant from the Government of Karnataka after a rigorous selection process with nearly 1,000 contestants. The team progressed through multiple evaluation stages. In the regional pitching round the team presented PocketCoach’s AI and computer vision-driven approach to sports training. Advancing to the final pitch, the team showcased its innovation to a panel of investors, government officials, and industry experts making it to the top 101. Following a detailed due diligence and legal compliance process, the team signed the Memorandum of Agreement, officially securing the grant. A significant achievement for PocketCoach was receiving the highest funding in the AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics) sector, underscoring its impact in sports-tech innovation. The winning business concept started as a capstone project under the guidance of Dr. Shylaja S. S. and going from project to product with fundraising and finding partners to work with under the guidance of Dr. Sathya Prasad Sir at CIE. The Karnataka government awarded a cumulative Rs 25 crore in grants to 101 startups under its flagship ELEVATE 2024 programme, an initiative to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation in the state. Shri Priyank Kharge, Minister of Electronics, IT and BT handed over mementos to the founders of PocketCoach Achintya Krishna, Anup Prakash and Omkar Jois, students of Computer Science and Engineering at the felicitation ceremony on March 26, 2025 held in Bengaluru.
