On the 6th of May, 2025, the Department of Microbiology conducted a clinical meet on ‘A Case of Complicated Enteric Fever with Reference to the Emerging Trend of Drug Susceptibility of Salmonella’ at PESUIMSR. The session began with an introduction by Dr. Sangeetha P., who set the context for the discussion and highlighted the significance of drug resistance in enteric fever management. Dr. Uma B. M. presented a detailed clinical scenario of a complicated case of enteric fever, which offered key insights into diagnosis, management challenges, and clinical outcomes. This was followed by an informative session by Dr. Prakash R. discussed current antibiotic susceptibility patterns of Salmonella, resistance concerns, and updates on newer diagnostic approaches relevant to enteric fever.
