Roots for the Future: A Tree Plantation Drive at PES University

In an inspiring step toward environmental stewardship, the Department of BBA HEM at PES University organized a tree plantation drive titled “Roots for the Future” on 17th January 2026. Held near the New Canteen, behind the MRD Block, the event brought together students and faculty for a meaningful one-hour initiative from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

A Mission to Nurture Green Values
Environmental protection isn’t just an activity—it’s a mindset. “Roots for the Future” was designed to instill this mindset in students by giving them firsthand experience in nurturing the environment. The event highlighted how sustainability is not an external obligation, but an integral human responsibility.

Event Flow
The program unfolded with a warm welcome to the guests, followed by a brief introduction to the purpose and significance of the drive.
The central activity—tree plantation—saw enthusiastic participation from the students of BBA HEM, who actively engaged in planting saplings around the venue.

After the plantation activity, certificates were distributed to acknowledge the contributions of participants, and the event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks.

  • A deeper understanding of environmental sustainability
  • Awareness of the social responsibility connected to community-based green initiatives
  • Practical exposure to planning and executing a socially impactful activity

Organizing Team
The event was organized under the guidance of Asst. Professor Bhaskar Sailesh and Dr. Jaykumar V, whose efforts ensured smooth execution. While there were no winners or special felicitations, the collective sense of achievement was shared by everyone present.

Planting Roots, Growing Futures
“Roots for the Future” was more than just an event—it was a promise. A promise by students, faculty, and the institution to stand for a greener tomorrow. Through simple acts like planting trees, the participants contributed to a legacy that will continue growing for years to come.
