The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming every sector—including education. To help educators stay ahead of this transformation, the PESU Research Foundation organized a one-day workshop titled “AI in Education: Practical AI Tools for Teaching Faculty” on February 26, 2026 at the Hanumanth Nagar Campus of PES University.

Running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the workshop brought together 72 enthusiastic faculty members, participating in two parallel sessions to ensure better interaction and personal guidance.

A Deep Dive into Practical AI for Teaching
The sessions were led by Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. Divyaprabha K N, Ms. Smrithi S, and Ms. Niveditha Reddy, who delivered highly interactive, hands-on training throughout the day.

The workshop covered:

  • Foundations of modern AI
  • Effective prompt engineering for educators
  • AI-driven lesson planning and content creation
  • Research assistance using AI tools
  • Classroom integration strategies
  • End-to-end teaching material development

Participants explored a wide range of contemporary tools such as ChatGPT, NotebookLM, Claude, Gamma AI, Brisk Teaching, and QuillBot, gaining first-hand experience in building AI-powered teaching resources tailored to their subjects.

Engaged Faculty, Practical Learning
The atmosphere remained energetic and participatory. Faculty members worked on:

  • Designing AI-assisted lesson plans
  • Generating assessments and rubrics
  • Creating visual and interactive learning materials
  • Simplifying research workflows
  • Understanding classroom-ready AI applications

Many participants expressed that the workshop not only introduced them to new tools but also reshaped their perspective on integrating AI meaningfully into everyday teaching.

Excellent Feedback from Participants
The workshop received an impressive average rating of 4.7 out of 5.

Participants appreciated:

  • Clear and structured explanations
  • Practical, hands-on demonstrations
  • Easy-to-apply methods suitable for immediate use
  • Friendly and interactive training style

A recurring suggestion was the desire for longer or multi-day Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) to explore more advanced applications in depth-a positive indicator of growing interest and confidence.

Looking Ahead: Building AI-Ready Classrooms
By the end of the workshop, it was clear that the objective had been successfully achieved. Faculty members left equipped with the skills, tools, and confidence to integrate AI into their academic workflows-enhancing efficiency, creativity, and teaching effectiveness.

The workshop marks another step toward building AI-empowered classrooms and future-ready educators, aligned with PES University’s commitment to innovation and academic excellence.
