Future of Work and Skill Relevance: Industry Expert Shares Insights with Students
The expert talk on Future of Work & Skill Relevance provided students with valuable insights into evolving workplace trends, emerging career opportunities, and the impact of technology on various industries.
As industries undergo rapid transformation driven by technology, globalization, and evolving workplace expectations, developing future-ready skills has become essential for students aspiring to build successful careers. To help students understand these changing dynamics, an expert talk on “Future of Work & Skill Relevance” was organized for fifth-semester students as part of the Human Resource & Leadership course on November 3, 2026 at Tech Park E 611.
The session featured Ashish Parthasarathy, Manager, Learning & Content at Jumbotail, who shared valuable insights into the future of work, emerging career trends, and the skills students need to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving professional landscape.

During the session, students were introduced to the changing nature of workplaces and the impact of technological advancements on industries across the globe. The speaker highlighted how automation, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making are reshaping job roles and creating new opportunities while simultaneously demanding greater adaptability from professionals.
A key focus of the discussion was the importance of continuous learning and upskilling. Students were encouraged to view learning as an ongoing process rather than a milestone that ends with formal education. The session emphasized that the ability to adapt to new technologies, learn emerging tools, and embrace change will be among the most valuable attributes for future professionals.
The talk also explored the growing integration of technology across diverse sectors, including hospitality, retail, and service industries. Participants gained insights into how digital innovations are transforming customer experiences, operational efficiency, and business processes, creating new skill requirements for the workforce.
The future belongs to those who continuously learn, adapt, and transform challenges into opportunities.
Another significant aspect of the session was an overview of current recruitment trends and employer expectations. Students learned about the qualities that organizations seek in potential candidates, including effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and a proactive attitude toward learning. The speaker stressed that while academic performance remains important, employers increasingly value practical skills, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
The discussion further highlighted the importance of building a well-rounded professional profile by combining technical expertise with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Students were encouraged to actively participate in internships, projects, certifications, and extracurricular activities that enhance their employability and professional readiness.
Attended by all fifth-semester BBA-HEM students, the session provided a valuable opportunity for interaction with an industry expert. The exchange of ideas helped students better understand industry expectations and align their career aspirations with emerging professional opportunities.

The expert talk proved to be an insightful and enriching learning experience, equipping students with knowledge about workplace trends, future career opportunities, and the competencies that will define success in the years ahead. Through such industry-oriented engagements, students gain the confidence and awareness needed to navigate an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven world of work.
By fostering meaningful interactions between academia and industry, the institution continues to prepare students not only for their first job but also for lifelong success in an ever-changing professional environment.
