Yuva Samvada: A conversation with first-time voters @ PESU

Bharathiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized an interactive discussion Yuva Samvada for first-time voters of PES University with the Honorable Minister for Women and Child Development, Government of India Smt. Smriti Irani replied to a variety of questions posed by the students in a packed gathering. Honorable Minister said that a democracy can thrive freely with an open interaction among its stakeholders. On a query by a student on if arresting of a person is acceptable for hurting other's religious sentiments, the Honorable Minister said freedom of speech comes with the responsibility of respecting every other person irrespective of his faith and beliefs. The Government has the responsibility to stop any kind of misinformation, which may incite religious conflicts. She said you cannot say that your information is factual and accuse the person when the highest court of India has already exonerated the accused. This response was very apt to the question on the veracity of banning the BBC documentary. Smt. Smriti Irani responded brilliantly to the question on how she won the election in 2019 from the Amethi constituency, which was a strong belt of the Gandhi family. The Congress has been assuring Amethi voters that the train service will be made to Unchahar town since Nehru's time. However, this became a reality only in the Narendra Modi government.

The context setting of Yuva Samvada was started by the Honorable Member of Parliament of Bangalore South Shri. Tejasvi Surya. Shri. Surya spoke about the responsibility of youngsters in voting during the upcoming election. They could decide the future of India, a vibrant and robust democracy through their voting exercise. Karnataka, especially Bangalore has become one of the top-ranking cities in India, in terms of software development, digital economy and start-ups. All these facts can be sustained if the youngsters vote for a stable government and be part of nation-building, which is currently progressing steadfastly through the works of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.

Earlier, the Chancellor of PES University Dr. M.R. Doreswamy thanked the BJYM and Honorable Minister Smt Smriti Irani for accepting to interact with first-time voters of PES University. He wanted every student must vote during the upcoming election to strengthen the democratic process. Dr. M. R. Doreswamy appreciated Honorable Minister's effort and Narendra Modi's government in shaping up the new education policy and making it a reality.

The Honorable Pro-Chancellor of PES University Prof. D. Jawahar, Vice-Chancellor Dr. J. Surya Prasad, Registrar Dr. K. S. Shridhar, Deans, and Chairpersons of various departments were present during the interaction.
