Lamp lighting ceremony of PESU Institute of Nursing

The Lamp lighting Ceremony for budding nurses studying at PES University underlined the significance of their compassionate service in the healthcare sector. Lt Col. Reena Menon, former Principal of St John’s College Nursing, was the chief guest on the occasion. In her address, she brought out the significance of Florence Nightingale’s works and emphasized on the noble aspects of the nursing profession. She touched upon the responsibilities of dedicated nurses during student life and when working in a hospital. She felt that the profession was rated as one of the most difficult as it deals with touching lives and interacting with different kinds of patients, families, and communities. She wished the novice nurses good luck and administered the Nightingale’s pledge. Prof. Nagarjuna Sadineni, Pro-Vice chancellor of PES University commended the crucial role of nurse’s play as dedicated caregivers who attend to patients throughout the day. He highlighted the unique ability of nurses to recognize and understand patients’ pain. He acknowledged the commitment towards society in choosing the noble profession of nursing by the students. The Lamp lighting Ceremony of the second batch of B.Sc Nursing program of PESU Institute of Nursing was held at the PES University EC campus on December 19, 2023.
