"En-AI-bled" – A 36-Hour Hackathon Focused on Digital Innovation @ PES University
PES University hosted "En-AI-bled," a 36-hour hackathon organized by British Telecom (BT) Group that unfolded on December 2nd and 3rd, 2023. This collaborative initiative brought together students, technology enthusiasts, and industry leaders to explore innovative solutions in the realms of digital identity services, AI-powered marketplaces, and innovative delivery methods.
The themes of the hackathon revolved around addressing contemporary challenges in the digital landscape, encouraging participants to think innovatively and apply cutting-edge technologies to real-world problems. Participants engaged in intensive ideation and coding sessions, focusing on building trust through world-class digital identity services, developing AI-powered marketplaces with the EE app, and revolutionizing delivery methods through the integration of artificial intelligence.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Kevin Lee, Managing Director of Consumer Digital, UK, Ms. Deepika Adusumilli, Managing Director of Data and AI, UK, and Mr. Jay Doshi, Managing Director of Corporate Units, Digital, India. Participants of the hackathon had the opportunity to interact and gain a deeper understanding of the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in the industry. The insights shared by these leaders’ helped participants in refining their projects, understanding market demands, and aligning their solutions with industry needs.
Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy, Honorable Pro-Chancellor, PES University who was present during the closing ceremony shared valuable insights about technological developments and state of the art facilities put up at PES University to nurture students' talent. He called upon Faculty and students to make the best use of the modern facilities available on campus.
The event's significance extended beyond the competition, offering networking opportunities for participants across different colleges. This played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academia and industry relationships, ensuring that students are better prepared as they transition into the professional world.
In a remarkable display of talent, the top three winners of the hackathon were all from PES University. The participants demonstrated relevant skills and creativity, earning cash prizes of 1 lakh rupees, 75,000 rupees, and 50,000 rupees, respectively. Recognizing the abilities of the top five teams.
