NexGen’24: Coding the next generation – A 24 hours hackathon by Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Nexus
PES University is thrilled to announce the triumphant success of NexGen’24, A 24 hours hackathon by Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Nexus. This event beautifully encapsulated the spirit of teamwork and collaboration, showcasing how individuals working together can achieve remarkable results.
NexGen’24 was one of a kind hackathon with various novel themes that brought together a diverse group of innovators. NexGen’24 not only fostered technological innovation but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among its participants.
PES University is a leading institution in Karnataka known for its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and fostering the talents of future leaders in technology and beyond. Our honourable Chairperson of the CSE Department, Dr. Mamatha H R and the honourable Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. V Krishna inaugurated NexGen’24 at 10:00 AM on 6 th April, 2024. Gracing the event with their valuable expertise are our esteemed mentors, experts in their respective fields. Dr. V Krishna, Dr. Mamatha H R, Prof. Sindhu R Pai, Prof. Pawan AC and Mrs. Anuradha Venkatasubbu brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to guide and inspire our participants throughout this empowering journey. Besides this, Mr. Abhishek Ranjan, Senior director and Global head, Sustainability and Admin, Brillio and Mr. Chetan J Shirnali, partner, Co Create Ventures provided insights about the current technologies. The success of NexGen’24 was further boosted by the invaluable support of the club coordinators, Prof. Sindhu R Pai, Prof. Pavan AC and Mrs. Anuradha Venkatasubbu who played a crucial role in overseeing the event and fostering a welcoming environment for all participants.
The participants were allowed to select their theme from a wide array of domains- such as Personalized Learning, Speech Coach, Generative AI, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Social Service.
To keep participants engaged, the event featured music, snacks and other fun activities. NexGen’24 emerged as a memorable gathering where creativity intertwined seamlessly with companionship, leaving a lasting impression on all participants. The most ingenious project done by the team “Lakshya” was rewarded with a cash prize of ₹30,000, while the first and second runners-up were awarded ₹20,000 and ₹ 10,000 to the team “IMF” and team “Future Flow Logistics” respectively.
