THE GREAT BENGALURU HACKATHON 2025 @ PES UNIVERSITY
CELEBRATING INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY
The Great Bengaluru Hackathon, a premier national-level coding marathon, was successfully hosted by Zysk Technologies and HackCulture under the leadership of Mr. Varun U & Mr. Shreyas Aaradhya, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at PES University, RR Campus, The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 4,700 team registrations from across India. After an intense selection process, 150 teams advanced to the final showdown, including 29 teams from PES University, reinforcing the institution’s strong presence. The competition ultimately brought together 92 participants, with 6 teams from PES University and 18 teams from other colleges.
The hackathon focused on three impactful problem-solving tracks. The Zysk Track (Track - 1) aimed to develop a Risk-Based Proctoring System for Online Assessments, addressing the need for secure and efficient online examinations. The Sarvam Track (Track - 2) revolved around building a Multilingual Conversational Loan Advisor to enhance accessibility in financial decision-making. Meanwhile, the Namma Yatri Track ((Track - 3) tackled the challenge of peak-hour demand imbalance and ride denials, seeking innovative mobility solutions.
The event was inaugurated with great enthusiasm by the Department of CSE at PES University, commencing with a welcome address by Ms. Arya A. I., Program Manager & Emcee at HackCulture.
Dr. J. Suryaprasad, Vice Chancellor, PES University, delivered an inspiring speech, urging participants to focus on learning, innovation, and excellence.
The inauguration was further honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr. K. S. Sridhar, Registrar of PES University; Dr. V. Krishna, Dean of Student Affairs; and Dr. Mamatha H. R., Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Prominent industry leaders shared their insights, adding immense value to the event. Mr. Karan M. V., International DevRel Lead at GitHub, introduced the ABCD concept – Anybody Can Develop – emphasizing how AI-powered tools like GitHub Copilot have revolutionized development. Mr. Tarun Mallapa, Vice President of Finance and Partnership at HackerEarth, highlighted the increasing role of AI in hiring and the importance of gaining real-world problem-solving experience through hackathons. Mr. Ashesh Nishant, Vice President of OLA, spoke about the evolution of software development, stressing how hackathons serve as an invaluable platform for innovation, collaboration, and skill-building.
The success of The Great Bengaluru Hackathon was made possible through the generous support of esteemed partners. Namma Yatri served as the Mobility Partner, while Zysk Technologies was the Presenting Partner. Testmyskills provided the Hackathon Registration Platform, and HackCulture played a crucial role as the Hackathon Partner. GitHub contributed as the Community Partner, Google as the Cloud Partner, and HackerEarth as the Evaluation Partner. HighTable acted as the Knowledge Partner, while Sarvam AI served as the AI Partner, further enhancing the technological scope of the competition.
