Chalk and Chapters: An Evening Celebrating Those Who Shape Our Stories

The Student Active Community (SAC), PES University, Electronic City Campus, organized a memorable Teacher's Day Celebration titled "Chalk and Chapters: An Evening Celebrating Those Who Shape Our Stories" on September 4, 2026 at the MRD Student Center Auditorium. The event brought together faculty members, department heads, dignitaries, and students to honor the invaluable contributions of teachers in shaping academic and personal journeys.

The celebration was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lakshmi Satyavani N, Associate Professor, Department of Science and Humanities. The event began with a warm welcome for faculty members, followed by the traditional Tilak ceremony and lamp-lighting ritual, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and respect for educators. The inauguration was further enriched by captivating musical performances by members of Kannada Koota and Swarantaka.

A special segment of the programme featured heartfelt video messages from department heads and university leadership, expressing gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and commitment shown by faculty members. These messages highlighted the significant role teachers play in inspiring students and fostering excellence in education.

The celebration continued with a series of engaging games and interactive activities, including Guess the Faculty, One-Minute Challenge – No Preparation, Pick the Chit and Pick the Name, and Balloon Popping. These activities encouraged meaningful interactions between students and faculty, creating an atmosphere of joy, laughter, and camaraderie beyond the classroom environment.

Adding to the festive spirit was a vibrant cultural programme curated by SAC. The programme included an appreciation video dedicated to faculty members, open-mic sessions where teachers shared personal stories, poems, experiences, and talents, as well as musical performances and entertaining reel presentations featuring students and faculty from various departments.

The event concluded with the distribution of heartfelt Thank-You Notes to faculty members, followed by a Vote of Thanks acknowledging everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration. The gathering served as a meaningful tribute to the mentorship, dedication, and encouragement offered by teachers throughout the academic journey.

The Teacher's Day celebration successfully strengthened the bond between students and faculty while creating cherished memories for everyone present. The event stood as a reminder of the profound impact educators have in shaping futures and inspiring generations of learners.
