Rooted in Vision: PES University Launches B.Tech Program Guided by Founder Chancellor Dr. M.R. Doreswamy’s Principles

The inauguration and the orientation of the first year classes for B.Tech, Program of PES University was held on September 05th, 2026 in the University premises.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy, Hon’ble Chancellor, PES University, in the presence of Prof. Ajoy Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Dr. J Suryaprasad, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. K.S. Sridhar, Registrar of PES University. 

Prof. Ajoy Kumar, Chief Operations Officer, PES University, was the Guest of Honour. In his inaugural address, he began with a movie depicting the journey of a new student at the PES University campus through the use of digital effects. He emphasized that technology is evolving at a rapid pace and encouraged students to embrace emerging technologies with an open mind. He reiterated PES University’s commitment to providing quality education and highlighted hard work and perseverance as essential qualities that students must cultivate to progress in life. He observed that there is no single turning point in one’s life; rather, life is a continuous journey of learning and growth. He also noted that more than 400 events are conducted on the PES University campus every year and encouraged students to actively participate in these activities alongside their academic pursuits.

Dr. J. Suryaprasad, Vice Chancellor, PES University, in his presidential address, highlighted the institution’s long-standing tradition of welcoming newcomers and fostering a culture of inclusion and assimilation. He stated that PES University provides every student with opportunities to share the platform, interact with others, and understand the expectations of the institution. Through an anecdote, he illustrated the importance of listening to and understanding students’ perspectives. He advised students that, in an era of delegation and outsourcing, they should never outsource their own ability to think critically and make informed decisions. Reflecting on the guiding principles established by Founder Chancellor Dr. M. R. Doreswamy, Dr. Suryaprasad emphasized that the development of core virtues-specifically forgiveness, gratitude, and humility-is instrumental to achieving excellence in both personal and professional spheres. Additionally, he highlighted Dr. Doreswamy’s foundational doctrine of honouring mother, mother tongue, and motherland as an essential pillar for maintaining humility across all career and personal endeavours. Dr. Suryaprasad affirmed PES University's commitment to providing all necessary support to ensure students have an enriching and memorable academic journey. During the ceremony, dignitaries presented the Prof. CNR Rao and Prof. MRD merit scholarships to outstanding students. The event also featured floral tributes to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan in honor of Teacher’s Day, as well as to Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

Dr. K. S. Sridhar, Registrar of PES University welcomed the gathering while Dr. Anitha N. Professor of Mathematics, the Department of Science and Humanities rendered the vote of thanks.

Prof. Jawahar Doreswamy, Chancellor of PES University, hosted an orientation session for incoming first-year students and their parents. The session, which drew 1,320 student and parents’, highlighted the university's core principles and practices critical to achieving long-term academic success.

ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ 2026ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 5 ರಂದು ಬಿ.ಟೆಕ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಥಮ ವರ್ಷದ ತರಗತಿಗಳ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ (ಓರಿಯೆಂಟೇಶನ್) ನಡೆಯಿತು. 

ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಕುಲಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಜವಾಹರ್ ದೊರೆಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಅಜೋಯ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಜೆ. ಸೂರ್ಯಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಲಸಚಿವರಾದ ಡಾ. ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. 

ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಅಜಯ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರು ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೊಸ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸುವ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವು ತ್ವರಿತ ಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಕಸನಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹೊಸ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು. ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಪುನರುಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಗುಣಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಅವಿರತ ಯತ್ನವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು. ಒಬ್ಬರ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ತಿರುವು ಇರದೇ ಅನೇಕ ತಿರುವುಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರು; ಬದಲಿಗೆ, ಜೀವನವು ಕಲಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ನಿರಂತರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ 400 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಅನ್ವೇಷಣೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಈ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದರು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರು.

ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಜೆ. ಸೂರ್ಯಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ನೂತನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಯೋಜನೆಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು. ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗೆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು, ಇತರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಹನ ನಡೆಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಒಂದು ಉಪಾಖ್ಯಾನದ ಮೂಲಕ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನಗಳನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ನಿಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಹೊರಗುತ್ತಿಗೆಯ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರು ವಿಮರ್ಶಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಯೋಚಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಹೊರಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಕುಲಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಎಂ. ಆರ್. ದೊರೆಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಿ ತತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಡಾ. ಸೂರ್ಯಪ್ರಸಾದ್, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸದ್ಗುಣಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ - ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಕ್ಷಮೆ, ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ರತೆಯು ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ ಆಧಾರಸ್ತಂಭವಾಗಿ ತಾಯಿ, ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾತೃಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ಡಾ. ದೊರೆಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಮೃದ್ಧ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಡಾ. ಸೂರ್ಯಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಗಣ್ಯರು, ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ 'ಪ್ರೊ. ಸಿ.ಎನ್.ಆರ್. ರಾವ್' ಮತ್ತು 'ಪ್ರೊ. ಎಂ.ಆರ್.ಡಿ.' ಅರ್ಹತಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿವೇತನಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಡಾ. ಎಸ್. ರಾಧಾಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಭಾರತ ರತ್ನ ಸರ್ ಎಂ. ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪುಷ್ಪ ನಮನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವೂ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿತ್ತು.

ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಸಚಿವರಾದ ಡಾ. ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ಅವರು ಸಭಿಕರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನವಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಗಣಿತಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಡಾ. ಅನಿತಾ ಅವರು ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು.

ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಜವಾಹರ್ ದೊರೆಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರು, ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಪಡೆದ ಪ್ರಥಮ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ಪರಿಚಯಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಭಿಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಅಧಿವೇಶನವನ್ನು (orientation session) ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. 1,320 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮತ್ತವರ ಪೋಷಕರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಈ ಅಧಿವೇಶನದಲ್ಲಿ, ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯವಾದ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಮೂಲ ತತ್ವಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಧಾನಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.
