PRONITE ‘25
A Night of Music & Magic
Pronite was the culmination of the celebration of Aatmatrisha '25, the Annual Techno-Cultural Festival of PES University, held on 5th April 2025. A popular Bollywood fusion Bengaluru band, Bandagi, played as openers for the concert. They started the evening with 'Pehla Pehla Pyaar' by Armaan Mallik. They wrapped up their performance with fan-favorite tear-jerker 'Channa Mereya' by Arijit Singh, which set the atmosphere for the magical performance ahead.
Shravan P, the comedian, spread laughter with his witty jokes, keeping the crowd engaged and excited for the night ahead. The most-awaited artist Mohit Chauhan, one of the most beloved singers, songwriters, and composers known for his versatility and mass appeal, arrived at 7:10 pm, sending the crowd into a frenzy. He entered the stage amidst hoots and screams of excitement, heightened by his melodious rendition of ‘Jo Bhi Main’ with which he kicked off his performance. He took the time to thank the audience for their presence and enthusiastic engagement before playing ‘Dooriyan’ from Love Aaj Kal.
The singer also played select songs by Kishore Kumar, the beloved and celebrated singer of Old Bollywood. Romantic melodies such as ‘O Mere Dil Ki Chain’, ‘Jaan Jaan Dhoondta’, and ‘Jaanu Meri Jaan’ made the atmosphere serene. Nostalgia was all around as these songs tugged at the heartstrings of everyone present, especially the faculty, seated in a section separated from the crowd.
As the crowd bid farewell to Mohit Chauhan, DJ Martin D’Souza took the stage and played crowd-pleasing remixes of popular songs, including Coldplay songs such as ‘A Sky Full of Stars’. Overall, the concert was a resounding success, with heartfelt smiles on the faces of the audience.
COMEDY NITE
The second day of Aatmatrisha 2025 included the highly anticipated Comedy Nite - a delightful two-hour-long set of performances by some of the best names in the Stand-up space. This year was no less, and the lineup included an invocatory showcase by Kannada Koota, the campus’s official Kannada Club and Stand-up performances by Aditya Kulshrestha aka “Kullu”. The event kicked off with a graceful Bharatanatyam performance by the classical dancers of Kannada Koota, a cultural club, invoking goddess Lakshmi to a modern version of Bhagyada
Lakshmi Baaramma. This was followed by a captivating Yakshagana performance to Kele Cheluve which left the audience enthralled. Team Balav then took to the stage with foot-tapping Kannada Pop songs leaving the audience spellbound.
The stage was all set for the comedy showcase, and everyone was eagerly waiting for the first performance. Kullu was first up and included jokes about various topics, from engaging audience members by talking about their Departments to joking about his school days. Kullu then went on to joke about the very famed college group trips, a relatable experience for many of the attending students.
