PES University’s Department of BBA–Hospitality and Event Management came alive with creativity and enthusiasm on April 6, 2026, as students participated in an engaging Cocktail Making Competition held at the Tech Park, 5th floor. The event began at 11 a.m. and brought together innovation, precision, teamwork, and flair — all essential elements of professional mixology.

Organized exclusively for 4th Semester BBA–HEM students, the competition aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Participants showcased their talent by designing original cocktails while applying classroom knowledge in a live, high-pressure environment.

The event opened with a brief introduction and team briefing, setting the stage for a spirited contest. Although there was no formal keynote speaker, the core philosophy of the event resonated strongly throughout the competition:
“The best cocktails are all about balance — a symphony of sweet, sour, bitter, and strong flavours working together in harmony.”

Under the guidance of Dr. Thashneem, the organizing faculty, students took complete ownership of the event. Their responsibilities included event planning, bar setup, creative design, vendor management, and hospitality — giving them real-world exposure to professional event execution.

The competition saw participation and attendance from around 25 students and was marked by impressive performances and creative presentations. After careful evaluation, the winners were announced: Gagana, Harsi, Sanika, Bhargav, and Kruthik, whose craftsmanship and innovation stood out among the participants.

Beyond the excitement and friendly competition, the event served as a powerful learning platform. Students enhanced their technical skills such as pouring accuracy, speed, and efficient use of bar tools. They also developed confidence in presenting their creations to judges, strengthened communication skills, and received valuable feedback aligned with industry expectations.

The Cocktail Making Competition 2026 proved to be a perfect blend of learning and fun, empowering students with practical skills, creativity, and confidence — all essential for a successful career in the hospitality and event management industry.
